Guys:

My son has really been using our 3d printer to make all of these new parts!
I could not have done this without him!
Here is some more pics of the top of the bottom half, it is not quiet right yet but that's why it is in yellow it is a test piece!
I cut the rods to their correct size and am helping as much as I can!

Nothing a little paint can’t cure!

Really looking … well, like something fans want!

Great work, Charles and Charles’s son!

Thanks: Biffpow

A little paint won't fix this, it is not right and the holes are not put in yet!
When It is correct will be printed in white unless my son can find a green that matches the bottom!
Bad part about is they don't make the "Fifties Aqua" paint I used for the bottom half every site says "Discontinued"!
I have a little bit left, if it will still spray I have not tried it yet it is several years old!

Send a picture of the spray can and I’ll see if there’s any in this area. I picked up a can of something that was close myself.

Another corollary to what I call “the law.” If you find something that’s a favorite, tastes great or works well, they will discontinue it.

Unless you can find someone selling it on eBay, that particular product does appear to be unattainable. I checked the hobby shops around here with no luck.

However, I did find something that might work.

Plastidip makes a rubberized spray in their line of “Classic Muscle” rubberized spray paint. They also call it “50s Aqua.”

You can buy it on eBay, Amazon or Walmart. It’s a rubberized paint, primarily designed to protect finishes, so I don’t know if that will work for the atomic pile. It runs about $20 can. I’ve seen some photos and the color looks pretty close.

Attaching a couple of photos, one of the can and one from an online review showing the outcome.
