Hi. I was watching this old 1957 movie the other night.
For those not familiar, it is about a guy (Tyrone Power) who is on trial for murdering an older lady to get her inheritance.
The guy first meets the lady when she is in a hat shop trying on different types of hat.
As soon as I saw the lady, I recognised her as actress Norma Varden, who many will know also played Mrs Monteagle, the fussy hat shop customer in "The Thirteenth Hat".
I wonder if that is just a coincidence, or did the casting specifically pick her for this as an in-joke?

She had such a varied career, it would seem to be a coincidence, but who knows? I could see casting for the show making that connection:
“Hat shop. Hat shop. Who do we know that looks at home in a hat shop?”
That’s a sharp eye and brain to put those two together.
