3D Hornet Logo Model

Post by rsaffle »

I’ve had this idea to turn the Hornet logo that we all know and love into a 3-dimensional model for some time now.

Ta-Da! Here you go!

This is 3D printed and hand painted and is around 6”. I plan on making a circle shield backer plate with a pin coming off to hold the model at the angle of the original logo and I may try making one with clear wings too.

I think it turned out cool.

A friend asked if you could make it with clear wings.

I'm planning on trying that. I don't have a resin printer and that would do the best job on printing them clear. My printer wouldn't be very clear, even using translucent filament. What I would probably do is cut the wings off the model and then make the wings out of a thick acrylic that I could still shape and add the black details in vinyl.

Short answer is yes.
