“The Law” STRIKES AGAIN! Hot Wheels 2025 Batboat saga.
Got tired of looking for the HW Batboat at the stores. Saw a lot of of three on eBay for a reasonable price and committed. THIS is how the box arrived. All three arrived with damaged packaging. The worst one is shown (I had intended to open one, so this was it), but I had hoped to keep one for my son and give one to a friend as collectibles.
“The Law” strikes again!
Corollary 16: If you cannot find it at the store at the regular price, and you decide to buy it online at a higher price thinking it may go up in value, there is a strong possibility it will arrive damaged, defeating the likelihood of any increase in value as a collectible.

File a claim...

Not insured. It’s not a big deal, just a bit frustrating after going so long trying to find even one, not to mention buying extra for my son to put away and another for a friend (who’s more particular than I about preserving MIP).

I seldom keep anything mint in the package but this can be frustrating. Your box looks like it was trampled by something.
The other shoe of "The Law" dropping will be your walking into CVS today to buy some vitamins and walking straight into a display stand of Bat Boats all MOC staring you right in the face.

Yes, Andy. I just sent this corollary the law to my friend, which is very similar to what you were saying:
“If you do finally find what you have been looking for and, in exasperation, you buy it at a higher price, you will soon find another, much more affordable, one.”

Even if you don’t ask for insurance, there is a minimum, usually $100, that is automatically provided for you.

Appreciate it. It’s OK. It’s not that big of a loss. Again more of an annoyance/frustration than anything. Just sharing another example of “the law.”

I get that you're not that concerned but yes, even USPS Ground Advantage comes with $100 insurance. I only re-address because I sell toys from Japan as a side hustle and sometimes our (sometimes international) buyers aren't aware of insurance issues, so I want to be sure anyone reading this knows that.

I once got a box from Japan that I had mailed myself, it took months to get it after I was back, and it showed up as just the lid with an apology note taped to it. That was the MOST destroyed package I've seen.
