Tony Mei suit

Did anybody get the Tony Mei upgrade suit for the hot toys Batman?
I was wanting to see how it came out

I'm getting one soon, and I can't wait. I've seen his work in person and it's stellar! I'm getting a new, darker gray bodysuit with properly scaled bat emblem (scanned from the Hardeman bat) and a new cape with proper scallops and flared edge. I'll post shots when I get it!

He's also working on a Robin upgrade as well. His quote to me was, "That cape's gotta go."

I just got my Tony Mei suit the other day and here it is! Redone chest logo, darker fabric for the tights and leotard, and new cape. He tweaked the trunks too so they don't look like a diaper.

I think he needed to split the difference on the size of the chest logo. This one looks too small now.

It must be an optical illusion then. Because the chest emblem is the exact width of the belt buckle, so it's perfectly in scale. And as we all know the original Adam logo was 5" across, and so was the buckle.

Maybe it's Hot Toys' buckle that's too small?

Depending how you measure the buckle, it can be a bit under 5" wide due to the curve.

The Hot Toys belt its self (buckle included) looks no where near to scale with the torso. That was one of my first comments when I saw the photos of the prototype, but I knew not to assume that would still be the case by the final production version of the figure.

It doesn't surprise me that Hot Toys dropped the ball on properly scaling the buckle to the figure, given the fact that they've played so loose and free with other details of the costume.

Putting a new emblem on the chest is easy, but if the sizing isn't just right it'll make the buckle look even more puny.

I sure wish the Hot Toys dunderheads would have consulted the experts before releasing these hit and miss figures.

The curvature of the buckle is barely a concern, since from side to side looking at it straight on the buckle is 4 7/8", but the actual metal itself is 5" across. So only an 1/8" of an inch difference there anyway.

Tony's bat emblem is 3/4" wide, and the Hot Toys emblem is 7/8" wide. So splitting the difference would require an emblem that's precisely 13/16" wide.

Anyone game for trying? Or could somebody make a more accurate belt buckle out of real brass?

I think a more accurately scaled belt is the solution, a larger buckle on the original belt will just throw the whole read off even further.

I printed off emblems at 7/8" (the same width as the Hot Toys emblem) on glossy card stock and gave that a try on the figure. I think the problem with the Hot Toys emblem is that it's too round. So while the width may look in scale, the height is throwing off the look. But since this is a scan from an actual Adam emblem, it seems to have better proportions. Thoughts? Still too big?
