I'm thrilled to have finally picked up a pair of "Robin" gloves from Dorothy Gaspar.
I went with the stock black glove and sprayed them to match the Pantone color of Marks originals rather than go with the off the shelf forrest green color offered , after hearing Wally say in an interview that Jan Kemp stated that's what they did back in the day.

In the late 80's I went to Hammer Gloves and spoke with Hilda Hammer who made the originals for the show and she showed me a pair of black gloves in the "Robin" style. They were beautiful!!!

I'm happy to say the contemporary version did not disappoint!!
Dorothy said she was getting the leather from the same vendor that Hilda used and sewed them up with the exposed cut edge on the fingers like they were done years ago on the show.
Here they are with my sample swatch.

They have that plush look I was looking for. They are tight on me but I had to try it on!!

And here is the look of the recolored glove...

Now for those green sleeves!!!
When they are all dyed at the same time, the various fibers and textures of the T-shirt and trunks take the color slightly differently. So even when they start the same, they are different.
I also wanted to illustrate how much the color can shift from one light set up to another.
This makes matching the color darn near impossible from photos...
