Opening narrations question?

Post by Jaws63 »

I've heard it mentioned in other threads that some of the copies from this new official set has a missing narration in the first Mr. Freeze episode. I just put this episode on...even my copy does not have an opening narration. Now I never thought about this until I read about this here on the boards, but in every other print I've seen whether it was bootleg/or tv broadcast, I don't ever remember hearing an opening narration in this episode.

My understanding of the missing narration of the pilot episode is that there were two separate versions, and I'm pretty sure it's been determined that the opening narration WAS there in the original broadcast. What's interesting is that I always thought there were " Dosier" narrations at the beginning of every episode. I half to say though that in watching this episode I noticed there is a very small portion of time between the "In color" card and people screaming at the ice-rink. Not nearly enough time for an opening narration.

If someone out there does have a version of this episode with narration in it, I'd love to know "Word for word" what that is? Thank you.

Huh

Either I'm confused, or this last poster didn't understand my question.

Let me clarify, there is a rumor going around that there are "Mistake editions" of this new official Batman series dvd release. The mistake was the Dozier narration at the beginning of "Instant Freeze" is not there and(I guess) it's suppose to be. This subject was brought up in the "Did anybody notice" thread.

My question is twofold, first I question the validity of the rumor...because I don't remember such a narration at the start of this episode. Now for the record, my instinct tells me there IS no "mistake editions", this narration never existed, which might explain the lack of response... and if it is there, what was Dozier's exact wording?

"Instant Freeze" does not have (and did not have) an opening narration. "Hi Diddle Riddle " was missing a narration but has been corrected with the replacement discs. These discs have been discussed at length here:

Btw, the person who mentioned the supposed missing narration was mistaken. I think they simply assumed every episode had one.
