Batcon 2019

Post by Mark Racop » Thu Mar 07, 2019 8:23 pm

Back by popular demand, I offer Batcon 2019. We had over 500 people come to our con last year, and with this year being the 80th anniversary of the Batman character, and the 30th anniversary of the 1989 movie, we thought we'd better give it another go on August 17th and 18th, 2019, at the Logansport/Cass County Airport in Logansport, Indiana. If you didn't come last year, you really need to make it this year. You'll have a blast! Details coming soon.

Would love to attend Mark. However, life's not making things that easy to come back home. I was born in Chicago, and all my relatives used to live in Gary, Hammond, Valparaiso and Munster (for those who don't know that's an actual town in Indiana.)
Music. BAT! Music.

John, I hope things ease up between now and August. It will be great to see you again, Tom! Jeff, I hope you can attend, too!

We are pleased to announce our first guest to Batcon 2019, author Jim Beard! Jim became a published writer when he sold a story to DC Comics in 2002. Since that time he's written official Star Wars and Ghostbusters comic stories and contributed articles and essays to several volumes of comic book history. His prose work includes the prose novels KOLCHAK: THE LAST TEMPTATION and SPIDER-MAN: ENEMIES CLOSER; co-editing and contributing to PLANET OF THE APES: TALES FROM THE FORBIDDEN ZONE; a story for X-FILES: SECRET AGENDAS; GOTHAM CITY 14 MILES, a book of essays on the 1966 Batman TV series; SGT. JANUS, SPIRIT-BREAKER, a collection of pulp ghost stories featuring an Edwardian occult detective; MONSTER EARTH, a shared-world giant monster anthology; and CAPTAIN ACTION: RIDDLE OF THE GLOWING MEN, the first pulp prose novel based on the classic 1960s action figure. Jim also currently provides regular content for Marvel.com, the official Marvel Comics website. Jim is currently putting together another 1966 Batman-specific collection of essays, due out later this year.

Mark

I'm planning on attending - had a last minute conflict and missed last year's event. BTW are you planning on bringing a Batmobile to IndianaComic Con?

Thanks
Jim

Hi, Jim! It will be great to see you at Batcon 2019! As it turns out, I'm not scheduled to participate at this year's Indiana Comic Con. Perhaps next year.
