McFarlane Toys doing Batman 66 figures?

A 1/3 '66 cowl has been shown. I wonder if this is different than what has been shown on the '66 Multiverse figure package. If so, is the one from the figure package a full scale, wearable one, unlike this 1/3 one?

If you go 1/3, this is the best choice

The cowls were more akin to the straw that broke the camel's back for Eaglemoss after years of unsustainable business practices whilst overspending on major licenses.

I really liked the detail on the Eaglemoss Batman and James Bond vehicles, except for the fact that they would not roll. I always assumed that this was due to some licensing rights to prevent competition with, say, Hot Wheels.

Replica vehicles that cannot roll are just as bad as cowl replicas you cannot wear. Plus, the Eaglemoss Batman vehicles were made of cheaper material and were more likely to be damaged in the packaging. My first Jokercopter arrived with one of the chopper blades already broken off. Their Batman vehicle series was a great concept but Corgi's Batman line from the early 2000s was much better executed.

True about the rolling and, yes, durability. I guess that’s why they come mounted in a display case. Still, the temptation to hold in your hands and examine is almost irresistible.

The very first - and only - time I opened up my 1966 Batmobile (a gift from a friend) and removed the display case, the little bat scanner piece broke off with a touch. I bought another, secondhand, which I kept sealed because of that.

I removed the protective case from the ‘66 batcopter and replaced it right away because the very intricate details were also extremely fragile.

I would like to see Corgi or HW execute a well detailed but durable diecast set of 1966 vehicles in a larger than 1:64 scale. Greatly admired the hot wheels bat cycle in 1:12 scale. But, something along the lines of Eaglemoss’s deep dive would be welcome.

As an aside, my 2+ year old grandson has been playing with my customized McFarlane for a few months after finding my Batmobile piggy bank. He lost interest in the piggy bank (no roll, no joy), but loves the McFarlane. When he’s older, I’ll bring out the figures, but rolling does make a difference. I can remember assembling the Aurora Batmobile, only to discover it didn’t roll, but was a static display. My little 7 year old mind thought “how boring”. On the other hand as an adult, I just display them, so rolling is not much of a factor.

I won’t be buying the cowls as I have Chuck’s delicious assortment for every occasion!

He is hitting Walmart shelves now. I picked him up today, cancelled the Amazon pre-order.

Finally saw the 7" Multiverse retro Batman figure today, and although I did pick it up, I don't think the facial likeness to Adam West is as good as the 6" retro Batman figure.

We were deep in farm country and came across a Wal*Mart-- my wife is looking for some kind of special makeup brush they have so we stopped in-- I swung through sportings goods to grab some raquetball balls and found a Multiverse Adam West hiding in the wrong pegs-- I put it in a prominent place in the toy aisle for anyone looking for it. It's an okay looking figure-- like all these McFarlane figures too many muscles and the body joints are distracting-- the nose mis-markings isn't as prominent and looking at the picture of the giveaway cowl up close it's still hard to see any real details on it.

I will say this about Wal*Marts-- they are a different experience out in the country than they are in more urban areas. Nice to see one that didn't look like a bomb had just gone off in the aisles.

Andy, I grew up mostly with small town/small city Walmarts. They are always clean and orderly here. But, many years ago, I had that experience with a Kmart in Cincinnati. This was back in the 70s and there were packages cut open with items stolen. Even the cereal boxes were cut open and the premium toy inside taken. Very dirty. In the 60s they weren’t that way, but by the 1970s they were.

My mom had bought my birthday gifts and we stopped at Kmart to pick up some last-minute items. Back then, no one locked their car doors. When we came back to the car, every birthday present had been stolen. That was a very eye-opening lesson for me as a kid.
