Quit my job
Personal note, I just quit my job of 35 years. Left a very large company for a very small one. Pretty freaked out and stomach is doing flips. Worked hard for what I've got but i'm stepping out in faith and into a new adventure.
Wanted to share with my Bat friends. Oh no, stomach is turning again gotta go

Hey, Buddy! Been there, done that...several times. Consider this, Brother Hornet: There is something in this new job that made You prefer it over the old one in the 1st place. Keep that in mind as You start Your new job. 2ndly: DON'T LOOK BACK...EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You will find in a relatively short time that You'll be happier than You were before.
Peace and happiness in Your new job!
If You want to talk, p.m. me and I'll share my phone number!

Congrats Randy and I wish you the best! I’m hoping my next big job is retired Papa. Still a few years away.

Re: Quit my job
I worked for a small company 25 years ago and it was a lot of fun. I went in every day not knowing what was waiting for me other than a challenge. At the end of most days I had a sense that I did something useful. I helped customers who appreciated what I did for them. Or, I helped customers who still wanted to punch me in the nose, but I helped them! Or I did something that made a difference to the company and my coworkers. Then we got bought by a big company. And it was only another year or so that the big company got bought by an even bigger company. Soon I felt like I was Drone #83172 doing my one little thing that barely seemed to make a difference. The pay was much better as part of the big company, but the job satisfaction had been boxed up and shipped out a long time ago.
Good luck and enjoy!

It doesn't sound to me like you quit your job; it sounds like you started a new one!

Re: Quit my job
I agree-- not an ending - a beginning! I've made the jump myself a few times and even though it was occasionally nerve-wracking, it always was for the better. You'll be great!

Good luck Randy... It's a big step and it might seem frightening at times, but if you feel good about your decision you know it was the right one

Re: Quit my job
15 years ago, I left my management job with benefits, insurance and a decent paycheck. I went into freelance. I took about a 60% income cut but got 100% of my life back. No regrets.
Best of luck. You're a doer, a troubleshooter and a problem solver. So I'm sure you're going to do well.
