Re: SDCC 2023
Well...in the '66 Batman comic Michael Allred did draw the George Reeves Clark Kent. So there is some connection that he is the '66 Superman.
The ball is in McFarlane Toys court. By now they have some idea fans think it's George Reeves. I think McFarlane has the influence and leverage to make it possible. When we see actual plastic prototype production photos in the fall, we will know for sure.
PS The art also shows the 1967 Van Williams and Bruce Lee. Recently there was a licensed '66 Batman button set that included the Green Hornet and Kato under the '66 Batman logo. Maybe the next wave will include the Green Hornet and Kato?

Oh my! An official Lord Death Man figure! I'm a happy girl!
He flies and fights-BATMAN!
Purity and virtue-BATMAN!
Cowards run away!
Batman saves the day!
Also, Boy Wonder Robin.
Batman and Robin-caped crusaders at night!
BIFF! POW! BAM! BATMAN!

This '66 Batman robot is a lot better than I was expecting!
It's a lot further in development than I assumed. Hopefully they will show the '66 Superman next as McFarlane said tomorrow is all '66 Batman previews and we can find out if it's George Reeves or not.

Here's a good look at "66 Superman" at the Entertainment Earth site. He looks vaguely familiar, not sure who (Clint Walker, maybe?) but certainly not George Reeves. It's not a bad looking figure but it doesn't say "Superman" to me, and the "S" shield is the 70s version by Neal Adams and not the Boring or Swan version from the 60s.

Another fan thought it was Ben Affleck as George Reeves from the movie Hollywood Land. It kind of looks like Ben Affleck and also it looks like Elon musk.SprangFan wrote: ↑Fri Aug 04, 2023 2:15 pm Here's a good look at "66 Superman" at the Entertainment Earth site. I would have preferred a George Reeves.
Re: SDCC 2023
Aargh, now that you've suggested Musk, I can't unsee it.
It's going to bother me until I figure out who it resembles. I see a little of Paul Wesley, the new Captain Kirk, but the face is too long. With a repaint it could almost pass for Conan O'Brian.
In short, it resembles any number of people except the one I wanted it to. And the cape is all wrong.
All things considered, it's a perplexingly odd addition to the line.
Nice robot, though.

Re: SDCC 2023
Looks more like the guy played Freddie Mercury in the movie especially his eyes
Re: SDCC 2023
I see a mix of Affleck and Timothy Omundson, the guy who played Carlton Lassiter on “Psych.”
Re: SDCC 2023
I guess "generic caucasian male in a Party City Superman costume '66" was too long to fit on the card.
