If it makes you feel any better mine aren't shipping until early Nov from Amazon-- I'm fine with waiting, no reason I need to have them first.

November? I do feel better! lol
I'm actually good too. I know I would open them, pose them and then put them in my case next to the hundreds of other things and then go on Ebay and look for the next thing. I like the thrill of the hunt more than anything else.

Mine arrived last Saturday via Fed Ex from the manufacturer. FWIW.
Some days you just can't get rid of a ... SHARK!

Well ain't you just the luckiest boy in puppet land, Lou!
Congrats, let us know how they look.

Is anyone else bothered by the King Tut chin on Batman or that Robin looks feminine? Put a red wig on him and it’s Jill St. John as Robin from the first two-parter.
Re: Beast Kingdom 1966 Batman & Robin
I thought more Tallulah Bankhead than Jill St John-- the in-hand pics are not lighting my fire, I may end up cancelling-- one of the many reasons I like to order through Amazon-- effortless cancellations and returns. I honestly didn't expect much from Beast Kingdom, I saw the Dark Knight figures and the Keaton one in person and I was underwhelmed. Pretty much a step above Mego but not a giant step.

STRAIGHT EARS? Not to my eyes!
Re: Beast Kingdom 1966 Batman & Robin
Well I came across a set in the wild and I have to say they looked a lot better than I hoped so I grabbed them.
The Batman headsculpt is pretty good, in fact I like it better than the Hot Toys, and it's far superior IMO to the sculpted Mego figure. He's a little on the thin side but overall I think he looks pretty darn good.
Sorry for the rushed photos but I'm on a crazy deadline and I barely had time to open them.
They are roughly the same size as Megos:
And in a very rare occurrence for a toy maker the Robin figure isn't as good as Batman, usually they're better (and those of you who know me know my feelings towards Robin align more with The Joker or the Catwoman-- I'm even surprised I bought the figure, the shop only had these two and I figured a lone Robin figure wasn't going to sell).
I think Robin's likeness is good-- the R is too big and he has way too many laces on his vest but overall the colors are great.
I'm happy with both of them-- and I just checked they are still in stock and ready to ship at Beast Kingdom if you don't want to wait for your pre-orders.
I don't know about playability (do they even make toys for kids to play with anymore?) they seem a little fragile to me and I have no intention of acting out adventures with them. It occurred to me the other day that my studio full of these toys and boxed Megos and everything are going to get instantly destroyed when I have grandkids, because Pop Pop won't be able to say no.

These definitely turned out nicely! I never got around to a pre-order on these, so i'm going to grab a set now they're in stock. I would love to see what Tony Mei would do with a set of theseAndyFish wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2024 1:56 pm Well I came across a set in the wild and I have to say they looked a lot better than I hoped so I grabbed them.
