George Barris connection to Caped Crusader Batmobile

Post by BatToys »

The Batmobile in the new Batman animated Cape Crusader I read is based on George Barris' The Car. So a connection to the 1966 Batmobile.

I've been enjoying the new Batman cartoon. More 1940s film noir with slightly more freedom from censorship.

The Car a.k.a. Bruce the Shark Gets Wheels! What a terrible film that was. Aside from the beautiful southwestern California desert scenery that I always love seeing, that movie absolutely amazed me in how a rural county sheriff's office could have more officers and cruisers than the entire LAPD!

I wonder if The Car's date at the Hollywood movie premiere was Christine? :D

I do have to say that for subtleness I think Batman's 1970 two-door sports sedan with the black bat-head on the hood really cut the mustard.

Ah that movie is a guilty pleasure! And it's got James Brolin in it who is tied to the Batman TV show for some small rolls. I think it was filmed in Utah, but yeah the scenery was gorgeous and the car was pretty sharp.

🤔Maybe LA had defunded the police.

So true, Biff! Actually, as for film location, Andy is correct. The movie was filmed all across southwestern Utah. Absolutely beautiful terrain.
