Looks different from the giveaway one, like it is plastic and unwearable like McFarlane cowls. I swear I saw an overseas listing for the wearable one!

Even if this was a wearable one, it doesn't look any better than the Matty Collector one.

Pass.

McFarlane 1:1 Replica Cowl display piece

I'm not a collector of such things, but I found a note Big Bad Toy Store sent last week in my spam folder concerning a McFarlane 1:1 display cowl. I couldn't find any reference to this on the board. If I missed it, feel free to delete this post.

It’s good to start a separate thread, otherwise it’s buried in the McFarlane action figure thread

***Admin Edit: Agreed, I'm going to merge those posts into this thread. BB ***

I agree - it does deserve its own thread.
There's been a lot of comments on it in the McFarlane Figure folder, Jim.

Is this perhaps intended to be wearable? I did not think it would be, but I notice what looks to be a Velcro closure at the front of the cowl directly below the chin. The description isn’t clear, either. It says “suitable” for display, but does that imply it’s not ONLY for display?

When someone asked them on their Instagram post, their official answer is that this is a collectible display piece only.

Thanks, Ben. I wonder what that irregular “cut” underneath the chin is about?

Well, if it had been wearable, it would’ve been a fun upgraded throwback to the old Ideal plastic helmet cowl.

That’s a missed opportunity.

I still wonder what it’s made from? Is anyone here buying it or adding it to their holiday wishlist?

Just guessing from the looks: plastic shell with blue vinyl covering and hard plastic or possibly black vinyl ears.

The description says plastic, Lou.
It's listed as shipping in January-- so nobody is getting this under their tree unless you leave your tree up for a month-- for myself I'm always happy to see the tree go up but I'm happier to see it come down and get the space back.

Have you seen the prices for the 1/3 scale cowls on eBay? Yikes
