From what I've read, the identity of Batman is unknown, and I'm wondering if that is still correct? If anyone could discover Batman's identity, it would be the members of this board.

Remembering Chuck Woolery
With the passing of Chuck Woolery, I thought it might be appropriate to remember him with this clip that I'm sure everyone has seen, with Chuck as Superman. It's always fun to see it again.

Rumored to be (but not yet confirmed by) Kurtwood Smith who did voice Lt. Gordon in the Batman Beyond cartoon series.
Re: Remembering Chuck Woolery
ALWAYS liked Chuck Woolery. I remember my Dad enjoyed Watching Chuck on“Love Connection.”
I have two actors in mind under the cowl (just going by the shape of the mouth, chin and jawline, as well as voice) but I cannot recall the name of one - although I can visualize his face.
The other would be Ken Kercheval, of “Dallas“ fame.

The same one worn in the Batgirl Equal Pay PSA.

Wow the mouth and chin do look spot on.
I'd never heard of Ken-- so I looked him up-- in the mid 70s (I think that's when this aired) he had a pretty decent resume, so I'm not sure he would have agreed to do something like this. IMDB lists him as being 5'10" which means he's anywhere from 5'6" to 5'10" (Shatner is nowhere near 5'10" for example) and Woolery is listed as 6'2". In the clip Woolery does look a little taller.
He's got a very distinctive voice-- has anyone seen him in anything? I think that would be the best measure.

The “Sneak Peek” aired in 1973. Kercheval only has one credit in 1973 per IMDB, so he could have taken a payday like this. He’s vocally in that range, which is one reason I considered him.
Re: Remembering Chuck Woolery
It sure does look like him.
Might explain why he didn't want his name on screen-- just a payday.

It’s just a theory. Could be someone completely different. I had not seen this clip until Jim K posted it, although I see it has been discussed on the forum before. Still considering other possibilities. If I think of anyone else, I’ll post it.

Kurtwood Smith as the Caped Crusader? That Batman Show? I still remember watching this in prime time and how it was all the talk at school after what with superheroes finally reappearing on TV. After Adam's show and the original Filmation series it was a real dry spell until '73 and the Super Friends - not counting Batman and Robin's two earlier Scooby Doo appearances.

Re: Remembering Chuck Woolery
yes, the "Woolmeister" was "naturally stoned". Check out an appearance of his on Playboy After Dark, ouch!
