I'm not an expert on this but I think the month on the covers of DC comics at that time didn't always match the actual month they were available for purchase. For example the October 1966 issue of Batman was available for purchase on August 11th .

There was a similar thing going on in the Green Hornet series. Bruce Lee was the lowest paid by some distance.
