Songs that fit Batman and Robin?

Post by Robin's Girl »

Hello, does anyone know of any songs that might fit the father/son type of relationship between Batman/Bruce and Robin/Dick? Because I think that Bruce really is a father figure for Dick. Sure, they are partners in crime-fighting, and yes, they are friends. But Dick is young and still learning lessons, still learning things concerning crime-fighting, girls, etc., and Bruce often gives out little tidbits of advice to him. Dick looks up to Bruce as Robin looks up to Batman. Also, if Robin (Dick) says or does something impulsive or wrong, Batman (Bruce) will reprimand him.

Maybe a song about growing up but learning that you still need help sometimes (Robin) or something that might describe slight conflict in their father/son relationship? Or maybe even a song that fits their crime-fighting, such as how they often get into scrapes and need the other's help (usually it's Robin who gets in trouble and needs Batman's help, haha, but sometimes Batman needs Robin's help as well).

For the father/son relationship, I think "It Is What It Is" might work. And for a song about them, specifically Robin, getting in scrapes during crime-fighting, I think "Help!" by the Beatles is perfect.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

When trying to think of a song that depicts a father figure nurturing a son figure, it's hard to come up with one that fits Batman and Robin exactly. From the father's perspective, there's Cat Stevens' "Father and Son" and from the sons' is Neil Young's "Old Man". But the best one that I can think of is Phil Collins' "Father to Son".

Songwriters: COLLINS, PHIL
Somewhere down the road, you're gonna find a place
It seems so far, but it never is
You won't need to stay, but you might lose your strength
On the way

Sometimes you may feel you're the only one
Cos all the things you thought were safe, now they're gone
But you won't be alone, I'll be here to carry you along
Watching you 'til all your work is done

When you find your heart, you'd better run with it
Cos when she comes along, she could be breaking it
No there's nothing wrong, you're learning to be strong
Don't look back
She may soon be gone, no don't look back
She's not the only one, remember that

If your heart is beating fast, then you know she's right
If you don't know what to say, well, that's all right
You don't know what to do?
Remember she is just as scared as you

Don't be shy, even when it hurts to say
Remember, you're gonna get hurt someday, anyway
Then you must lift your head, keep it there
Remember what I said
I'll always be with you don't forget
Just look over your shoulder I'll be there.

If you look behind you, I will be there

"Behind blue eyes by the Who." You can even substitute "Badman" for "Batman" in the song and it really works. BTW, the eye color thing came up in another recent thread and both Adam and Burt have blue eyes.

Someone suggested HELP! How appropriate, considering I once made a video with that song, AND here it is:

I also have videos made of "Hold Me Tight" and "Good Night".
