Wonder Woman deal of the week
Wonder Woman is not held in the same regard (i.e. profit potential, cultural relevance) as the 1966 Batman series. Batman is a long-desired release on home video. Wonder Woman on DVD--even when first released--was not. I would not expect the cost to take a WW-like drop, unless Warner overestimated its value and sales tank fast.

And where is 20th Century Fox in all this? I'd love to know what deal was struck. I also hope the Fox logo is at the end of the episodes. To me, it was part of the show. I also hope the ABC logo is at the beginning of the episodes. There again, I'm just hoping not expecting.

I expect the Fox logo at the end. As this is license from Fox, I expect it will follow what WHV has done with the Paramount titled it licensed where it left the logo intact. I think that there's less of a chance the ABC logo will be there.

I'd be surprised if the ABC logo was on there. They were just the network airing it. When I watched the show growing up, it was on an independent station, so no ABC logo. And I'd be surprised if the FOX logo wasn't at the end because they produced the show.

I was just at amazon and to pre-order right now I would pay about $180, but I live in Guam, I ordered Season 6 of Hawaii 5-oh and it took 6 months to arrive...so to be honest I'm not too fond of Amazon for this reason.

The series won't really be available until 11-11 I'm just afraid when it hits the stores on 11-11 it will be even more expensive, which is why I ask of any alternative pre-order method.
Best Buy will have pre order I am sure. Price should be announced tomorrow I hope at the SDCC.

Amazon is the only place I pre-order anything from, most of the time I wait for day of sale or afterwards, But with Batman I have that locked in at 188 or less, if it comes down. But since that Tue is a holiday It will very tempting to see what retail offers (in anything extra), it'd be nice to pick this up at Target. Not going to BestBuy-that place...well I'll keep my mouth shut.

Does anybody know if these are going to be restored? The episodes I have seen are showing their age, color is fading pretty bad.
The series set I have from the TV-Land showings are pretty bad, BUT I have them.
I just adjust my TV color, brightness, and hue, it looks much better..
All is good until I forget to change it back and Momma tries to watch TV...

They need TV's with memory for program color settings..
Good news for all Bat Fans... I'm in line...
I may not agree with what you say at times, But I will fight for your right to say it!

MY understanding is that they have done all new transfers from the original elements. I expect them to look very different from what's been seen for the last 40 years.

The sizzle reel mentions HD remasters. so there you go.

Amazon has update the release date for both to 11/11/14.

Just read this
Home Entertainment – Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will bring fans an array of new Batman titles throughout the year, including the highly anticipated release of the Batman ’66 TV series for the first time ever. Other new releases include animated films Son of Batman (May 6) and Assault on Arkham (summer 2014). Additionally, a 25th Anniversary Edition of Tim Burton’s Batman feature film will be released in the fall.

Wonder what they could add to that Burton release ?

I decided I'm not going to complain about the price. No one's going to pay the full $270; Amazon will be discounting this; their biggest price drops usually happen just before release.

Also, most of us would have bought this series on DVD back in '02-'06 when most TV shows were coming to DVD for the first time (and then, in pricey season sets). We would have bought it again after the advent of blu-ray in '08, so when you think of it like that, this set actually saves money!

It's been a very long haul to get to tonight, which is the unveiling. Everyone here deserves a pat on the back, or a drink, or both, for waiting so long and not letting your enthusiasm wane. Here's to you - Cheers!

That's an excellent way to look at it!
Re-Mastered, Un-Cut- Extra's-- THIS is the set we've been waiting for-- and the price will fall.
Three cheers to everyone who made this happen and to the dedicated fans of the show (and to anyone else we failed to mention)!

Andy:

I remember when the 1989 Tim Burton film premiered I scanned all the video stores looking for VHS releases of the 1966 Batman series. I thought they would put out cassettes featuring the different villains: i.e., a Riddler set, a Penguin set, etc. I couldn't figure out then why 20th Century Fox didn't take advantage of all of the fanfare around Batman to maximize sales of the classic series. I didn't know about the legal issues at that point.

I wasn't sure that this day would come either, but it is almost here. I am so thrilled. I remember vividly watching the show the night it premiered on ABC. I was 5 years old, almost 6. I was in kindergarten and it was magical. It was all we talked about at recess the next day.
