Joker Utility Belt

After I made the FTC figure version, I had to make one my size. ;)

EDITED TO ADD-
That is a "Billy" Robin Utility Belt, FYI. :)

Nice work Scott! Did you make the 1:1 scale or is that an old CY?

I picked the belt up cheap on eBay a few years ago- it was a fan made belt, okay but not "quality". The pouches were originally "top loaders", so I cut the vinyl from "flap" to "latch" shape (still need to reposition the two on the left lower) and flipped the pouches upside down on the belt. The buckle was the worst thing about it- it's a thick, heavy metal piece with the proper latching system soldered onto it, but the face was made with metallic tape! From a distance (and on an eBay listing with not so great pix and the tape not being mentioned) it looked okay, but close up it lost the battle.

So after making the FTC custom, I decided to alter the 1:1 belt again and make a Joker Utility Belt- I've always loved those episodes, and lately I've been on a "make it myself" binge.

Did Clint actually make the Joker utility belt in the past?

Not to my knowledge, I was more so intrigued as to whether you had simply customised one of his older replica belts. Nice job though! It's always fun to try stuff out!

I used to have a great image of that joker head, but lost it when my hard drive crashed. I always hoped that Chuck would offer an etched belt buckle with that image. There was a guy on ebay called twodogs that offered an image a while back. I tucked it away for a future belt buckle.

Looks Great!!!

I've been on the fence just because that Joker face is so stinkin' ugly!

It would be a sticker and not etched I think.

I have a great joker face from the comics for an "inspired" joker buckle.

I found a link (posted above) that illustrates a method for placing the image on the buckle
Here's some pic.

I imagine an etched buckle with painted portions, similar to those Disney pins

Interesting!

Yep, making one similar to a cloisonne pin is beyond my meager capability.

It would elevate what is a really bad design to a new look.

The shading of the original image would make this approach more difficult .

But printing one on a 3D printer would be darn easy in comparison!

Ya gave me a great idea, Sza. Think of all the great stuff we could reproduce on a 3D printer- looking at prices on 'em now. :)

That image of the joker was being sold on ebay? That is artwork I created for my Joker belt way back when. I should have watermarked it. Oh well.

The image didn't load when I quoted, but this is the image I'm referring to.

I hope I'm doing this right. It's been a while.
