Actors you wish would have been casted as villains

Threads like these are fun, because it is always nice to throw out the "what ifs".

Most of the villains on the show were not necessarily A-list stars at the time. Some were past their prime....still recognizable names, but no longer the big stars they once were. When I think of actors/actresses I would've liked to have seen, I try to keep that in mind.

Mae West would have been a good one.

Ray Milland.

Even though it would never happen....Cary Grant.

And even though he did appear in a window cameo, Jerry Lewis in his Nutty Professor/Buddy Love persona's would have been interesting.

I seem to recall Mae West WAS under consideration to play a villiness on the show, perhaps Minerva. Likewise Clint Eastwood for Shame and Two Face.

My wish list includes Don,Knotts as Scarecrow and Telly Savalas as Dr. Hugo Strange, assuming Vincent Price reamains Egghead.

Actually Mae West was scheduled for a cameo only as herself in "Ring Around The Riddler" not as a villainess.

It's a crime that Boris Karloff didn't make an appearance. As Lord Fogg, or perhaps The Puzzler. He would've made the episodes immeasurably more watchable.

It's ACTORS YOU WISH HAD BEEN CAST AS VILLAINS-- every time this thread shows up again it's like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Having been grumpy-- Karloff would have been great as Hugo Strange, but like many of the classic actors of the time he was in ill health at the time of Batman and I'd hate to have seen him that way.
