Didn't the fellow that ran the "Batgirl Bat-Trap" site once have a story board? Is he or it still in operation?
Next week, the Dynamic Duo meets the Clock King!

Not sure about that one. However, Celestialhost did write a fan fiction piece where Batgirl goes up against the infamous Sea Hag; you may have seen it on this forum.Progress Pigment wrote:Didn't the fellow that ran the "Batgirl Bat-Trap" site once have a story board? Is he or it still in operation?
For all those who enjoyed the story of Cactus Kleinschmidt, I have another villain of my own creation ready to go up against the Dynamic Duo, and I've just spent my Saturday evening finishing Part One of that story. However, this time I'm not going to post any of it until Part Two is complete, hopefully sometime within the coming weeks. Once again, thanks to all who read my story, and double thanks to all of those who offered comments on it; trust me when I tell you that I truly appreciate it. Check out Celestialhost's story of the Sea Hag on this forum if you get time.

Dis vas ein vun shtory to reed. I zertanly hope dat ve zee Cactus Kleinschmidt vuce again. Und of dis I am haffink no vorries. Avter ahll, did he not zay, "I'll be back . . . ?"
Great story, Gorshin Romaro! You really did manage to capture the taste and feel of the Classic 1966 Batman TV show. Reading your story was a fun trip down memory lane. For a few moments, I was seven years old again.
If I have any quibbles with your story, it is the anachronisms that inadvertently slipped into the story.
In Scene 7, you had Fullhaus "messing with a computer keyboard." In 1966, feeding punch cards into a computer would have seemed more period correct. Even the vaunted Batcomputer did not have a keyboard interface.
In Scene 10, you mentioned having either Idris Elba or Andre Braugher portraying Judge Sessell Madison. But since Mr. Elba was born in 1972 and Mr. Braugher was born in 1962, this would not have been possible. You might want to pick some period actors for Judge Madison, just to keep the flavor that you are, for the most part, successfully invoking.
In Scene 17, you have Cactus Kleinschmidt quoting Burgermeister Meisterburger from "Santa Claus is Coming to Town." This was from 1970 (Unless you were to say that Burgermeister Meisterburger was actually the one quoting Cactus Kleinschmidt . . . .) By the way, your ". . . rise to the occasion," line was priceless. I could actually imagine this line slipping past the censors in 1966 like some of the other double-entendres that made "Batman '66" work on so many levels. Oh, the stuff that went over our heads back in the day . . . ! Good Job, here.
In Scene 4, you mention the ACLU by name. I get it. But "Batman '66" was famous for making fun of names, both of people and places (Mayor Linseed, New Guernsey, etc.) To keep the flavor, you might want to come up with a name that parodies the ACLU; but one that leaves no room for interpretation of who you are really talking about . . . .
Please don't think that I am nitpicking. I had many similar quibbles with the new "Batman '66" series graphic novel from DC. Examples include Bookworm's "Secrets of Self-Control" book being retitled "Anger Management;" a term that I do not recall being in use in 1966 (or maybe it was, and I am having a Senior Moment.) Though "The Joker's Layoff Riot!" is the worst offender, using anachronistic phrases such as "downsizing" and "rightsizing" that would have been more at home in the later Batman movies or Dark Night cartoons.
Of course, some things can be forgiven, namely the newly-introduced 1966 Batplane; a McDonnell-Douglas (NOT Boeing) F-4E Phantom II with George Barris-esque Bat-Styling. The F-4E did not fly until 1967, but close enough and it looks so cool! (Yes, I do plan to model it in 1/72nd scale.)
I ramble, but I enjoyed finally getting to read the finished work, as opposed to just talking about it on our breaks at work. And I hope that the other, original villain that you plan to have work with Herr Kleinschmidt is who I think it is . . . .
Again, thanks for the memories!
