Agreed, Ian. The hip joint was just a bad deal all the way around. Considering the cost of remaking the hip joints, I see why it wasn't done. What it becomes in my opinion, Ian, is a case of if one wants the hip joints more accurate, one needs to use sculpey and redo the joint themselves. I also realize that not many have access to the 12" G.I.Jane figure to help in redoing the hip joints.
Any chance of seeing You do an 8" figure of the two Luna Park figures? You've certainly got plenty of shots of the them.
Customised Two-Face, from the unused Harlan Ellison TV storyline in the "Batman '66" comic. Created by Ian McLean from an 8" Jimmy Olsen figure (and half of Clark Kent's suit).
That is simply Amazing, Ian!!!!!! BTW, What issue of the comic was the unused Harlan story in, please? I'd like to get it for my Harlan Ellison collection of stories.
Thanks. I am grateful to hemming web and my steam iron, since I do not sew.
The comic was a "special issue" in 2014, a perfect-bound edition, not part of the numbering of the then-ongoing "Batman '66" series. Also contains Harlan's script synopsis and the artists' pencils. Supposedly, Clint Eastwood had been earmarked to play Two-Face. http://www.dccomics.com/comics/batman-% ... -episode-1
The whole Batgirl thing has gotten out of hand.
Could it be better?
Sure, all of them could be better but they are not supposed to be on a level of "Hot Toys", they are supposed to be on the level of "Mego" and for a Mego figure, she's fine.
She's NOT as bad as some are making her out to be.
I'm happy with mine.
I tend to agree with You. The problem, as I see it, is not "Bat Girl", but "Barbra" as the Bat suit hides the hip joints quite well where as the swimsuit doesn't and that, B.W., is al I was commenting on.
Given my Age, I will say this: The cost is nowhere as cheap as Mego was in it's day and that's why I initially commented on the hip joints. I agree they aren't as expensive as Hot Toys, but I still think it is time to bring Mego and it's sucessors into the 21st Century, when even 2 1/2" figures have more and better shaped joints and can ( + occasionally are) be cheaper.
I've been loving this thread for a while now and having a little down-time on my hands and in the spirit of cleansing my palette after watching a certain highly anticipated movie yesterday I decided to take a couple of quick shots to contribute to this Toy Photography thread.
First up I played around with imitating that more "noir" feeling season one lighting style:
Then I added a little more fill light to make those colors in Robin's suit pop a little more:
At my school, the students use PhotoPeach to make quick slideshows that use free Creative Commons music. (Requires "Flash" to play, so it won't work on iPads or iPhones.) Here is a slideshow of my "Batman '66" action figures (and customised characters). http://photopeach.com/album/18dkmdp
