Eaglemoss, the publisher who brought us the "Batman Automobilia" magazine collection are now producing a new title called "Build the Batmobile" which will supply readers with the parts to build a light up 1:10 scale 66 TV Batmobile.

The first issue was apparently released in the UK on 28th September and the cover star of issue #1 is our very own Scott Sebring sat comfortably in a Fibreglass Freaks creation.

Having completed the recent Eaglemoss collection of the 88 small-scale Batmobiles and various other Bat-related vehicles, I absolutely love this! A 22.5 inch long, fully detailed, die-cast metal body 1966 Batmobile complete with figures, working lights, and all the bells and whistles would be a "must" for me. Unfortunately, for the near future, I am not in a position to begin the collection should it start being distributed in North America.

They did the same thing with the 007 Bond Car - the DB5 a few years ago - and it is spectacular. Hope this makes it to the US...and around the world

"Appears to be a UK only release so far, but as their other magazine based model series have later been released in other countries it's probably just a matter of time.

FEATURES:
Accurate 1:10 scale replica based on exhaustive study of the original car and the tv show.

HOWEVER
:

• 100 issues: Seriously? Even if published weekly, that's over 2 years to complete the build, not to mention the COST!
• Accuracy – from the photos there are some serious inaccuracies (including of course the BEACON) which is a plus I suppose for some of us who like to make parts;
• Subscription is essential - if you miss an issue you may miss some critical parts, it's not like you can pick and choose which issues to get like with Batmobilia series;
• Apparently the parts are unpainted – may not be an issue for some, but an added expense on top of what may end up being a $2000 investment in a 1:10 scale Batmobile."
