I heard too much negative about Rogan's version so I didn't see it. I preferred the Radio idea of the gas gun. I can tell You that the gas gun sounded cool to a room full of Navy Boot Camp Recruits!!!!!!!!!!!! The Serials WERE well done imho.
The "Hollywoodites" of today could certainly take some clues from those of "yesteryear"!

Cheers!

Not lame! Even though he’s “ an underworld figure”, he doesn’t need to kill. I’ve often wondered why LEO’s don’t gas the alleged bad guys in their home/hideouts, then walk in and clean house. Replace the teargas so to speak. No shots fired, etc.

I think the Rogan movie reflected the times of a “privileged kid” having to rapidly grow up with the death of the wealthy dad. How different would Wayne be if his parents were killed while he was in college. Maybe the same?

But a new movie could show realistic bad guys, much the way the 2nd Bale movie showed them.

Will a gas gun appeal to a new generation? Maybe a gas gun is underwhelming to some people. But what if the gas gun is changed to something that is unique and is more appealing visually? Personally I prefer replacing the gas gun with a Thompson machine gun (the gangster's machine gun) which will be more appealing visually............
One clarification because I am not sure the point that I was trying to make may not have been clear.

I did not mean to replace the non-lethal gas gun with a lethal Thompson machine gun. What I meant was to replace the non-lethal small gas gun that shoots one gas shot at a time with a non-lethal gas machine gun that looks like a Thompson machine gun that can shoot multiple salvos of gas shots.

Indeed.
