Re: Batpoles
I always just assumed that the batpole entrance to the Batcave was directly below the bookcase entrance.

Lol! Great term. I confess to believing this at one time. Probably even made my makeshift Manor/Batcave Corgi layouts to reflect that.Ben Bentley wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 1:09 pmIndeed! I'm glad you reached this thread before I did, I imagine most of you are tired of me usually being the one hitting people over the head with this fact,Batfanman wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 5:31 amIf by inverted, you mean they come down facing the opposite direction, they don't. The imagination sometimes plays tricks and I've read of many who believe this but they both arrive on the same side as they started up or down as you can see here. The camera perspective is from the same direction in the study and cave.hmartinsfilho wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2024 5:58 pm And they go down into the batcave with the poles inverted.![]()
We probably need to coining a pithy name for this confusion/phenomena... "Bat-Pole Dysmorphia"?
if you watch carefully the different Batpole descents, they both spin around as they go down. And of course the pole sizes tell the truth our imaginations ignored.
Re: Batpoles
Was the disparity in Bat-pole sizes really Adam West's idea? I ask because it's spelled out explicitly in the pilot script, which I think was completed before West was even hired. (Though I suppose it could have been a late revision to the script, made some time after West had been cast.)

The first (or second...) thing I thought when seeing this thread was that Catwoman's grills were size appropriate as well.
