As a kid, I always liked Robin, I wanted to be Robin for Halloween, but there was never a Robin costume. At least not that I ever found.

When Ben Cooper was a client of mine I asked Ira in a group meeting why they never did a Robin costume-- he said because no kid wanted to be Robin. Made me laugh because I felt that was as a kid. But they would have sold at least one, right? ;)

More than one. 🤣

My brother and I used to play Batman and Robin using pillowcases as capes. If there had been a Robin costume, I’m sure there would have been tens of thousands of dynamic duos running about collecting candy. (And then playing with the costumes daily until they wore out.)

Oh I agree-- as much as I can't stand Robin I was surprised at their thinking, although I can attest in my circle of friends in grade school when we played Batman there would be four Batman's (thanks to comic reprints we knew there was a variety of them) and zero Robins, but I've seen plenty of pics of home-made costumes where kids are dressed as Robin.

When we used to dress up and play Batman and Robin in my neighborhood, everyone argued over who was going to be Batman, I always decided to be Robin. Much easier than arguing for a half hour. We would use large colored towels as capes and design our own chest emblems and color them with crayons, then pin them to our shirts. Great times!

I've seen many homemade Robin costumes over the decades. He's always been a very popular character.

I've seen the Super Hero Ben Cooper mini costume figures at a Target store in the last several days. The shelf sticker price said $14.99, but they rang-up at $19.99. :?
