I wasn’t looking for anything GH. I was actually trying to find a TV commercial for Faygo red pop (there’s not one in this video).
However, I found this YouTube video for TV commercials that aired on October 14, 1966 during the TV show “Where the Action Is” (sort of like American Bandstand).
Enjoyed a lot of memories while watching the old commercials (like Great Shakes), then up pops this GH commercial. On October 14, 1966, the episode that aired was “Eat, Drink and Be Dead,” but the commercial prominently features Lloyd Bochner from the September 9, 1966 episode “The Silent Gun,” among others.
It’s the same commercial I’ve seen elsewhere, but I just thought it was interesting that we had a specific day and program during which this commercial was broadcast

Great blast from the past, Biffpow. I hadn't seen this clip. Cool to see super-talented Lloyd Bochner going against the Green Hornet. I was also reminded of the sour gum flavors. I forgot all about those, although I think they faded out in the early '70s.
"Hmmm... I don't like the twist this joke is taking. Let us away! Let us away!"

I vividly remember this commercial running in the summer of "66. I had no idea who the Green Hornet was but I knew Van Williams from Surfside-Six. Also the mask in some of the clips appeared in only one episode, "Programmed for Death" but it ended up being featured on a lot of the merchandise. So for a long while there when I thought of the Hornet , I pictured him with that mask.
