State Farm Batman/Bateman commercial

Has anyone seen the new State Farm commercial featuring Jason Bateman and Batman? I keep seeing brief clips on TV, but I found the complete version on You Tube:



It's pretty funny - Batman reminds me of the Michael Keaton version.

It's getting a lot of acclaim which I think speaks volumes for the DC Movies-- if the current keepers of the franchises just followed more of the traditional tropes of the character they might have bigger hits on their hands.

That said, I'm still not a fan of the rubber suited Batman, but at least this one could turn his head and it didn't look like his face was popping out of the cowl opening like a muffin.

Luckily for me I have no interest in any new movies so I get to save the admission and my insane concession stand bill which usually is double the entry.

The spot took a lot of inspiration from the Burton & Schumacher Batman films, so that was not so pleasing to me. At least the Batman fight scene appeared to be inspired by the Affleck Batman, by far, the best live action Batman to date.

Was surprised to see this playing during my Youtube videos. Fun and well done, perfect combination of branding, messaging, and action with the maximum usage of a licensed property. Now we need a State Farm Godzilla vs. Kong commercial...
