For Lewis Wilson BATMAN (And Serial) Fans...

Found a customizer who makes some great serial figures including a Lewis Wilson and a Robert Lowery-- the first and second of the silver screen Batmen.



He originally made Wilson in black, which looked sharp, but the real costume was actually more a cobalt blue-- at least looking at the cape when it came up for auction a few years ago. To test it out I dropped out the color and we have...



What I consider to be a spot on take.

I've not worked with this talented gent before, so hold all requests for contact until the deal is done and I see the actual product. I don't like to recommend anyone I've not personally dealt with. But if all goes well he also does Tom Tyler Phantom and Captain Marvel, as well as many other great serial figures.

That is nice! Great looking figure. What size is it?

BTW, I designed that Radium Raygun to 3d print full scale and got about 90% done before I started doing other stuff. I collected about 40+- images but I got frustrated because nothing I found showed the backend or handle area. I wanted it to be accurate as possible, and those areas couldn't be.
I need to go back to it though.

Do you have this photo, Randy? I don’t know if it helps much, but there is some sort of flared thing on the back. Going back and looking at the serial, I’m not seeing that flared piece when Dr. Daka is taking it out of the case and holding it.

It's 1/6th scale so 12" figure.
There are now plenty of Mego sized Lew figures from various sources, so it's good to see a really nice 1/6th scale one. The cowl is especially difficult to get right. The edges of the cowl have to cut high up over the cheekbones and the nose has to swoop down-- it mimics the look of the 1939 cowl pretty closely. Then of course the devil ears, which tend to have a bit of a slant.
I think this guy nailed it.

His 1949 Serial figure is equally good, which is ironic since the suit is probably the worst Batman suit on film (although the rubber suits are pretty ghastly too), this actually looks good;



And I'd mentioned he also does the '43 in black-- it's very nice but I'm too OCD to be OK with it;



And for you completists and Robin fans he does both a Doug Croft and a Johnny Duncan;





Although as many of you know, I'm not a Burt Ward Robin fan, but I did like Doug's take on the character. Johnny Duncan might be the second worst Robin in history (Chris O'Donnel is #1) he was a nice man, just too old to play Robin.
