A mistake a lot of artists make about the '39 cowl is they follow the rules of a modern cowl-- the nose line is more angled like in the '43 serial.

And the eyes are wrong too- they should slant down.

Okay I knew we had two McFarlane Cowl threads-- my good friend Mickey M posted another but he has a problem spelling McFarlane ;)
Has anyone ordered one? Curious to see in hand photos (like Mike posted on the other thread) and what the inside looks like.

Hard to figure out what we're looking at-- but that appears to be a flat area at the crown-- so as well all expected-- can't be worn.
I wonder about the "replica" cowl they were giving away? Was this one they bought from someone to use as a model? Did they make a second cowl out of fabric? These are the things that plague my mind.

The question of the fabric cowl plagues my mind too. I swear there was even an overseas listing for it at one point. The picture of the giveaway cowl looked awesome and superior to the Mattel one!

Mike sent me a bunch of pics and asked me to post them.
Definitely looks like it's worth $99 to me-- it is rigid, the cowl stands on its own without the base. It's made of plastic.
The texture on it is a nice touch, I like the seams on the neck piece.
If I had room, I'd get one.

I am imagining Chuck’s Adam West face sculpt inside it.

With the texture and the seams, it looks almost as if it was molded from a fabric cowl.

For the first time, the painted eyebrows reminded me of this from Seinfeld:

Likely only the face piece, not the entire bust. Looks fun for $100

Here’s much Adam face piece for reference

It does look like Uncle Leo's brow job-- and don't forget Uncle Leo himself was on BATMAN.

For those of us old enough to remember some of the early repro cowls that came along around the early 80s it seems like the nose and brow markings were the hardest things to nail.

‼️I’m sure he was some gangster or henchman, but I am drawing a blank as to which episode, Andy.
