Any idea if this will affect the release of the sets?
No, Time Warner is NOT being purchased. The company in the article is Time-Warner Cable, which is a separate publicly traded company and it's possible sale has no bearing on Time Warner at all. And I say "possible sale" because it is far from definite that the sale will happen as the Justice Department must investigate the merger with Comcast before it is allowed. There are a great many reasons to not permit it.

In any case, this will not affect the release of Batman on DVD/Blu-ray, or DC Comics, or Warner Bros. films, or anything that is under the Time Warner umbrella.

For a 1/2 series, generally 8 episodes will be on one disc. (The 4 episode per disc were because they were bootlegs with single layer discs)

At 120 episodes figure about 15 discs give or take. Audio only bonus features won't take up much room but extra discs may be required for video bonus features although their length and whether or not they are in HD will determine space requirements.

My guess is $250 for the BD complete series.

I still say 17 discs split into 4 utility belt pouches would make a great bonus package.

Can you picture it?

Dear fellow bat-fans,

Do we want bonus features, yep! Do we have Adam and Burt doing commentary, confirmed! The MOST important question is, will all 120 episodes be UNCUT? Are ALL rights issues cleared to make this the case? We as consumers need this clarified. Thank you for your time...

I want practical packaging. No pouches or belts unless removable DVD cases are included.

In the most recent interview with Burt Ward, he states that Mr. West and himself were brought in separately to do interviews, but no commentary. I might be misunderstanding what he said (and commentaries could still be done) but it sounds more like they were just interviewed for a typical DVD featurette. I certainly want commentaries, but at the same time I wonder if they are going to be wanting to spend a lot of money producing the set.

It's interesting that your following the chronology of episodes from most of the bootleg copies, not to pick on you(hell, I could be wrong) but I always thought that "Clock King" followed the "king Tut" episode. I think you have Clock King and Ma Parker reversed.

Now this is more of a question than a statement. Am I wrong or didn't the "Penguin's nest" ep. come before the Shame episode? Are these episodes also reversed?

To spice things up they should invite some super fans and West/Ward would ask them some questions instead of repeating stories fans have heard many times before :

"how long you been a fan ?"

"what's your fav episode ?"

"who's your fav supporting actor ?"

"who's your fav moll and why ?"

"which episode do you hate ?"

"really , that's an interesting theory......I've never thought about it like that before...this episode is better than I remembered"

etc etc......it's not gonna happen , though.

FWIW, Jaws63, Phil B's episode order is 100 percent accurate.

I'd rather have Adam and Burt asked questions by someone to jog their memories, then maybe we'd get new stories.

I know we're all excited for this big release, but I think a 15, 16, or 17 disc set is going to call for a huge box, and in that box, there should be room for collectible extras, like maybe a card set, a diecast figure or a Batmobile, something that every fan of the show will want to keep on their shelf. We have the 2nd or 3rd reincarnations of Nolan's box sets with collectible extras, why not this set? If we shell out $100 or more, throwing in something that might cost the manufacturer 1/10th of a cent is small change for them. And if we know there are bonus items in the packaging, collectors are likely to buy one set to open, and one set for keepers......

I personally will not pay more than 30 bucks per season for DVDs. If they are more than that, I will be getting used copies from amazon...

The reason I can wait is that I am pretty happy with my TVLand and Masters bootleg sets. They look great on my CRT 31 Inch TV, so the new set better be well priced for me to buy it and replace my bootlegs.

With no news at all about a release date, I wondering if it will happen in 2014...?? Im guessing no it will not...
