I'm not a big Lego person, but that being said when I saw the newer/larger '66 Batmobile they put out this year it definitely appealed to me. My wife arranged for the Big-Guy with the red and white get-up to stash one under the tree for me 8-)

Will I build it in a timely manner? Probably not.

Have I got anywhere to display it once it's built? Noooope.

Is it insanely cool, even in it's box? Absolutely.

Ben, I see that you’re a Trek fan as well! You would have enjoyed the Star Trek Halloween themed party we hosted a few years ago. Costumes and props for everybody!

And do you play that guitar? If so, what is your favorite genre?

Big original series Trek fan too. Secretly I loved that giant Lego Batmobile from afar but I never told Santa. I know me, and I know I would never get around to putting it together.

When I was a kid, you'll never believe this Ben you whipper snapper, but Legos came in a box and you had to come up with what it made-- they didn't have sets yet! Just a pile of blocks and parts.

I was never a big Lego builder, but I did have a box of just plain Legos. It was exactly what you said, Andy. What they made was whatever your imagination could dream up.

I tended to make science fiction control panels/consoles, ray guns and “space”/futuristic vehicles. I don’t remember any licensed characters back then. Just smiling faces with the occasional occupational accessories. “I’m an astronaut!”

Nice wall display, Ben. You're just missing a picture of Baby Face Finlayson from the Beano books.

Regarding Lego, yes, I remember there were no specializations like today - just random blocks, although I do recall a friend's set having a little 'Esso' gas station sign that could be attached to a rectangular base. Being that this was in the late '60s/early '70s, we thought that was just the coolest thing at the time.

I went as Warf, complete with Headpiece some many years ago. Toward the end of the evening the glue started to wear out, so my Godson put on the head piece. He looked like Warf's son on the series. ;)

You beat me to it, Biff! I just bought a couple of copies of this myself-- I was surprised by the Serial Heroes appearance.
Nice score!

If i'm being honest with myself, I would have likely talked myself out buying this Lego set for that very reason. Haha

Ha! I have not thought about the Beano in a long time!

I do indeed! That red Fender Telecaster is a fairly recent addition though, I got rid of a few I wasn't using/playing and finally added a Tele to the stable. My debut E.P. actually just came out a few months ago, full band arrangements, the works! haha. People tell me that my music falls into the Folk-Rock, Americana, singer/songwriter brackets for the most part. I realize that a lot of people in the Bat-World don't know that our very own Scott is a musical artist and Producer - he produced my record in fact! It's available on CD and Streaming everywhere:

We don’t mind the self promotion at all. Always impressed with the seemingly endless and varied talent on this board, which goes to show you that the 1966 Batman television show must’ve appealed to the budding artists among its childhood audience.

I listened to the songs on the link you provided. Musically, I am drawn more to the last two on the YouTube playlist (“Come On” and “The Ninety-Nine”).

You have a fairly unique sound, Ben. If I had to pick anyone in pop or rock music with a similar sound, it would have to be Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon.

Great that you and Scott have similar talents and interests, and live within rock-throwing distance and can work together on your projects.

Congratulations on the new releases and may you and Scott both see your talents enjoy a rewarding 2025!

Ditto Biff's sentiment-- self promote away-- how else are we going to know what great stuff folks are doing?

Agreed! The wellspring of talent in the Batworld is deep!!

I added two more "Batbuckle receivers" to my collection.
These are the found steel parts the metalshop that made the buckles used to hook the buckle to.
I have three now!
