The reason I can wait is that I am pretty happy with my TVLand and Masters bootleg sets. They look great on my CRT 31 Inch TV, so the new set better be well priced for me to buy it and replace my bootlegs.
With no news at all about a release date, I wondering if it will happen in 2014...?? Im guessing no it will not...
It looks like you're really preparing to be dissatisfied. 2014 is Batman's 75th. Conventional wisdom is an announcement at SDCC for November release.

At 120 episodes figure about 15 discs give or take. Audio only bonus features won't take up much room but extra discs may be required for video bonus features although their length and whether or not they are in HD will determine space requirements.
My guess is $250 for the BD complete series.
Considering Warner Brothers is putting this release out they average $55 to $70 a season RRP for Blu Ray. I would put a conservative price tag on this set of $150 and at the most $200 which I really doubt for Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack. I am unsure with the current market trend if you will be able to buy this set outside of a BluRay/DVD combo pack when it is released. DVD's are dying and most of the big manufactures are switching to combo packs only for new releases. I am also willing to guess you will be able to pick up the set the week it comes out on with a 40 percent sale on it similar to the Star Trek releases.
I'd bet Combo pack as well-- DVDs are going the way of the Dodo bird.
I don't care how much the set is-- I'm buying it, I'm buying it new, I'm buying it the day it comes out. This is my favorite show of all time, and the COLOR alone screams out for a legit no longer slightly washy bootleg. No matter how great your bootlegs are they will never compare to BLuRay.
In fact-- this will make me jump the ship to buy a BLuRay player-- I've not cared a whit about making the upgrade but with the writing on the wall to the fate of future DVDs and THIS series coming out that's enough for me.
Is there any word on the artwork - photo or cartoon carryover from the toys or a combination.
Combopack would be sweet - especially with a digital download. I have the series on my ipad converted from the masters, and while they are OK, they are not as vivid as the movie I bought from I-tunes. They do pass the time on airplanes though....
Only about 6 and 1/2 months to go to the end of November.
I agree with Andy I am buying the Box set DVD of our 1966 Batman tv series. Look I paid $200.00 on the Adam West Hot Toy which is Spot on!!! I will pay $150.00 to $200.00 or even $300.00 for Blu-Ray DVD for my Favorite Batman tv series!!! I will even buy a Blu Ray player too for this show it is going to be AWESOME!!! The heck with the bootlegs I want the original DVD box set and or blu-Ray of our 1966 Batman tv series!!! Can not wait to get it when it comes out Happy Batman Days!!!!

Oct/Nov release, THIS year.
I also think the release of the series on Blu-Ray would entice me to take the plunge to acquire a player, especially since they are so affordable. I want to see this show as clearly as possible and since replacing my CRT set last year, none of my DVDs look as enticing as they once did.
It has been speculated that the show was responsible for color TV sales. Wouldn't it be ironic if the video release caused a spike in Blu-ray sales?

I agree with Andy completely. I have had no interest in buying a BluRay player, but for this set, I will.
Maybe they'll put out a special edition blu ray player. Heck, we've seen special DVD/TV combos with various themes, like Batman, Lightning McQueen, etc....
Unless its part of a super duper deluxe edition, I doubt the show will come out in a combo pack. Most combo packs are two disks, some are four and a very few (like the Ten Commandments or Ben Hur have made it up to 6). I do not recall there ever being a tv show combo pack, and despite the griping about the DVD format, it is still standard for DVD releases, particularly of classic shows.

Yes for most older shows yes, but Batman is in a little different boat than those others. The show will go through a massive cleanup for release and be digitally remastered possibly through an 8K process and at least 4K process. The show unlike other older shows before BluRay being released is a top five TV Show since season box sets became available that people requested to be released and is seeing its first release. Also the show was shot on film and not video unlike alot of other older shows released so BluRay can do so much more for it. If you check Warner's recent trend on TV Sets Arrow Season 1 BluRay DVD combo and Big Bang Theory Season Six BluRay DVD combo. Other shows like Game of Thrones BluRay DVD/Combo and almost every Disney new release is a BluRay DVD Combo. It is the way the market is going and every big manufacturer is switching to this route. Why do twice the amount of work setup time and design when you can package everything in one box and in the end run save money by doing combo packs? You might not like the route the manufacturers are going, but it saves them money and at the same time they can charge a few bucks more on the BluRay. By the way the older shows I do own on BluRay from around this period and through the 70's OMG is all I can say on picture quality. The Prisoner, Space 1999, and Star Trek jaw dropping visuals.
Speaking of "space," will each episode of the set be at LEAST 25 minutes long? In other words, 120 episodes X 25 minutes long? I know I may be risking a backlash of some sort, but ALL rights issues NEED to be resolved before they even THINK about pressing a single disc. For instance, have things been cleared with Ms. Gore for BOTH songs from BOTH episodes?
I rather doubt that the second song has been cut because of anything to do with Lesley Gore (unless someone knows something different.) I think it's just a commercial time issue. The song aired through the 1970s. It's just that there are more commercials during programming now. The version from TV Land that used to be up on youtube had California Nights included, but hacked out 3 whole minutes of the show right after the song, the whole part with Gordon holding his phone up to the Batphone so Batman and Catwoman could talk.
Someone put the second song on youtube. I don't know if it came from the 'master set' that some of the board members have, or if it came from early 80s showings on cable, but I'm sure more of the show has been cut as time goes on and commercial breaks take up more time.
No, the second song was cut for legal issues. This has happened on a number of programs over the years and often the performance of certain songs will cause the music publishers (it has nothing to do with Gore herself) to start insisting on new payments if the contracts weren't drawn up right.
Really, epaddon? Wow. It's such an inconsequential song, though. Wouldn't the music publishers rather demand more money for California Nights, which was actually released as a single and an album? Maybe Now was just the B-side of another single, Treat Me Like A Lady, as far as I could tell in researching it.
