And Lt Col Donald Penobscott on MASH, and Tarzan in the awesome "Tarzan and the Valley of Gold" (among others).

But I wouldn't say it looks like him, either. It's more just a "generic handsome Caucasian male." It's one of those figures that relies entirely on costuming to sell the "likeness". And that's why this doesn't work for me, because we never, ever saw Adam in costume with the cowl off.
"You were right again, Batman. We might have been killed."
"Or worse."

Easy-- they're making him because they can!
Even with the giant lightbulb sized Cowl and the likeness of Roger Moore it's still infinitely better than their two Batman figures they've done so far.
How do you make a $25 action figure like this? By cutting out the costly resculpts a company like Hot Toys does to "get it right"--so close enough gets you a better price.
Tooling is extremely difficult-- what looks good in a raw sculpt doesn't always translate into the molding process, then you have the added difficulty of dozens of Chinese workers applying paint to the production run and it's a miracle when they get even close.

Top figures in the line so far (IMO)
Mad Hatter
Egghead
Penguin
Shame

I think they missed the mark on the Joker, Riddler is good but not great, Robin is solid and Batman is awful. Belt is too high, cape is wrong material and too long, face sculpt is ridiculous and why is his head leaning back?

BUT having whined about all that- I love this line. I spent YEARS playing with my molded on Cowl Batman Mego and convinced myself that looked like Batman (Removeable cowl was hands down the best Mego figure), so all of these are winners in my book.

Bring on the next wave!

I really like the entire line, don't care how dead on the likeness's are they are inexpensive, old school type figures. I would like to see some more variety in the future waves.

Yes! Less Variants more Variety! Although they are leading the league with number of characters made.
As much as I love the line, I'm not sure I'd shell out for a Chandell or Louie the Lilac.

For me-- the must haves/must makes (outside of what is already announced):

Catwoman (Julie first preference, although with the lack of detail Julie and Lee will be interchangeable)
False Face
Riddler in his sharper duds
Green Hornet & Kato

and I'd like to see:
Sanders Mr. Freeze
Clock King (hey, I like Walter Slezak)
Commissioner Gordon
and why not Aunt Harriet

Wave 4 back cover.
Newmar Catwoman shown

I saw a different back cover with Kitt, Barbara Gordon, Bat Girl and Chief O'Hara, but I can't seem to locate it. It might be the back of the EE 5 piece set

Found it

surprised the screen test variant hasn't happened yet with the way FTC likes to pump out the Batmen.

Just ordered the two Batman's -- I'm a sucker for the old bat symbol suit-- and I like they went with the blue and yellow belt from the back cover of Batman 1. I think I can see a screen test variation in there Lou!

Looks like another Batman head sculpt coming. At least looking at this pic from SDCC.

More than likely a custom head, notice the cape is different, too. I doubt that's an FTC head.

the head on the Mattel Batman is a custom, Robin is wearing the some of the clothes off of Ward's figure from FTC with a different head and shorter body. . RC customizes its figures to suit themselves. That head on the FTC West body is not from them.
Here's the trailer for the special...
