SDCC was wonderful. The two Funko exclusives and the Lego 66 Batmobiles just about filled my Batman 'swag bag' and the atmosphere in the hall during the DVD unveiling was truly exciting. The set looks great. While I would have liked to have seen painted artwork for the Blu-ray Special Edition, I did really like the fact that the 'look' of the box strongly resembles the boxes for the original three series set of 'Norm Saunders' trading cards from 1966 (those cards being the ones included in the set).
He flies and fights-BATMAN!
Purity and virtue-BATMAN!
Cowards run away!
Batman saves the day!
Also, Boy Wonder Robin.
Batman and Robin-caped crusaders at night!
BIFF! POW! BAM! BATMAN!

I mean, the director who was responsible for the PILOT is alive and quite lucid. It’s mind-boggling that nobody thought to try to get Robert Butler to do a commentary.
Hmm, that would have been a great extra. I'd like to hear his comments on directing the pilot episodes. Warner Bros did get Robert Butler to do a pilot commentary on the Lois And Clark DVDs. I'm afraid I haven't listened to it since the mid-2000s, so I don't remember what all he may have contributed in the commentary. He was one of three people doing commentary on the pilot ep.

Quite frankly, I'm not surprised at all that most of the possible extras talked about here on the message board didn't make it to the upcoming Batman discs. Warner Bros didn't put 95% of what I'd wanted as extras on the Lois And Clark DVDs, so to all the people disappointed about the Batman extras, I hear ya.

I've said that for some time--I would love the complete TV soundtrack almost as much as the series, as it is a vital "character" of the episodes. Series collections are not uncommon (see La-La Land's 2012 release of Star Trek-the original series).

No, we are as yet to see anything above standard resolution. The sizzle reel simply gives an idea of the palette and cleanliness of the print at a standard resolution. If you've seen the movie at full 1920x1080p on Blu-Ray, you have a pretty good idea of what to expect in terms of sharpness and detail.
The problem with that BluRay is I am unsure when they released did Fox do a new transfer for the 66 film at that time or did they use a previous transfer for the print. If that is the case you would have to believe the TV Series has the possibility of getting a much better transfer especially with Warner who has a great track record handling their classic material on BluRay.

Of course Blu's can be played on a 4:3 television. Anything that was filmed pre-1953 is automatically a fullscreen presentation and almost all television shows except newer ones within the last decade are all FS ratios.

Im the opposite when it comes to music as well, I have a very extensive CD collection, most of which was originally released on LPs, But I prefer the CD/remasters, high resolution and clarity of the compact disc. I probably have less than 10 artists in my collection that were never pressed to LPs.

Check out below for screenshots of 4:3 TVs to an hdtv presentation of Dracula which is Fullscreen. Your'e missing out buddy. ;)

Oh you stretch the picture to fill the screen. I can tell its stretched and it looks awful...Ill take a pass on that..

If TV Manufacturers would make a 4x3 Fullscreen HDTV, then I would buy a blu ray player and watch the 4x3 blu ray on it..BUT thats never going to happen...I know back in early 2005-2007 several 4x3 HDTVs did get made, but I didnt buy one at the time. I wish I would have. I think Sony made a few different models like that. Shame they still dont make them..

here is the one I wish I had:(SONY 36" 4x3 HDTV)

Hmm you know you do have the capability of adjusting your video settings so your player plays it at the correct ratio and you have two black bars on your screen left and right of the picture

I'm one of those sceptical types so don't hold it against me when I say I can't party until I'm sure of what I'm getting. I've been burned before. I'm hoping WB's idea of uncut is what the rest of us mean. It's all conjecture until the release date and someone watches the discs and gives us their findings. I'll save my partying, or not, until then.

I guess technically they could release extras some time later. Not unlike Dark Shadows. They released several 'extras' releases with bloopers, interviews, etc. If this set makes a lot of money maybe they will want to follow up with something more.....maybe not?

I'm almost afraid to post anything in this thread anymore LOL.

I was one of the less fortunate of those who did not attend the SDCC, I was sorta hoping for more info about the sets, but it was what it was.

Yes...I agree we've been burned before, and I see nothing wrong in inquiring into what we are putting our hard earned money for, but since this is an Official release... I'm fairly convinced we will be getting an authentic "UNCUT" version.

Thank You, Ben Bentley.
Color & Contrast look exceptional on the sizzle reel as in the movie BD.

:D Hi I'm new here,so my first post i need to post on this. Now standing from a fan point of view, yes i think the set is a bit pricey,&others feel the same way too.Now i did pre-order the regular dvd set,but why is it you don't get one single bat-goodie like the blu-ray set?.Any how as far as vintage bonus footages not being on the set, their could be reason for it.Like ABC 1966 Fall preview special ABC would have the rights to that,so they would had to work something out with ABC,what i'm getting at is putting this footages would meant delaying set to work out agreament of the copyright owners.

nobody thought to save any deleted scenes. Nobody thought money could be made from them. It was a different era.
Interesting. I hope you're wrong but I certainly understand your point. And over the years, I think some stuff would've emerged online by now.

Still, maybe some unseen footage will emerge at some point.

I'd really like to read unused scripts or script treatments, proposals, etc. I know that one site that was referenced on here, had a two-face script proposal, maybe it's been updated, it seems like a good reference site.

Really surprised so many fans are as skeptical as they are. WB will do this series right. There's no conspiracy at work here people. Just be happy.

You can read Harlan Ellison's TWO-FACE episode outline in his latest book.
