Ha ha, no way.
This reminds me of the Lord of the Rings movies; first you buy the theatrical, then the extended versions. Insert other movies as well.
If they're holding back for later releases to generate more income, no thanks. I don't think they are, I'm assuming things I'd like to see as special features have a very limited appeal and weren't even a consideration. Most people who are going to buy this don't care to see unused scripts or treatments. Hell, they have no interest in scripts that were actually used! It sort of reminds me of bands on tour, generally speaking, the hardcore fans want to hear the rarities and b-sides and the casual fan, the hits.
I'm holding off for the special VHS super-deluxe collector's edition, anyway.

I wish a soundtrack CD had been one of the extras. I would enjoy that, no doubt.Batguitarist wrote: So you see, we all have our hopes and dreams about what WE thought should have been included. In my case, I've had over 40 years to dream. I am hoping for a complete music soundtrack featuring all the cues from Riddle, May and yes, the lonely and forgotten Warren Barker who did the Marsha episodes. I try and stay focused and kind, but sometimes my passions get me carried away. No disrespect was ever intended on my part and if I did, I never meant to suck any of the joy out of the news for the release.

Kind of hard to believe that is not in the works--as far as we know. I would trade all forthcoming Bat-merchandise (except the Blu Ray) for a complete series soundtrack.High C wrote:I wish a soundtrack CD had been one of the extras. This is a good point. Perhaps they've got something in mind regarding a soundtrack, contingent on how well the box set does. I'd be surprised if there isn't a musical release at some point, especially since the main theme alone is known all over and has even been covered by bands over the years.

Speaking of bonus material, what was the ORIGINAL price of that 1-disc set from '04? What they're asking for it, YIKES!

My apologies. I meant the ORIGINAL price for the two-disc Batman: Holy Batmania set. Just curious...

Yeah, I saw those prices when I was looking around the internet last year, and definitely YIKES. I was elated to find that I was able to get it from Netflix and finally see it. I'd be curious about the original price too (if it's allowed to be posted in a thread, or does that rule only apply to the current price of items?)marvelbloodhound wrote:Speaking of bonus material, what was the ORIGINAL price of that 1-disc set from '04? Are you serious??
We get all episodes uncut plus bumpers. They way they were originally broadcast in amazing quality.. beyond anything they could have imagined in 1965 to 1968. And that because the special features are not to their liking that you feel the NEED to petition extra features??

As a SEPARATE release! Just trying to look out for those that weren't able to.bag that release in '04. Speaking of raising a stink, would anyone care to track down my INFAMOUS "JBL" rant? I made Bill 'O Reilly look well-adjusted. BTW, to WB & Fox, SALUTE!

Ok I need to rant... *Takes deep breath and let's it all out*
Most Blu-Ray Season Sets go for $50-$60.00 each. I seen on Amazon reviews that people want to get this set dirt cheap and it's not going to happen. This is a Blu-Ray Set, fully restored and in HD. With a ton of extras worth over 3 hours. These people have no idea how much money was spent on putting out this set. Paying all the royalties, all the time remastering all the episodes to HD. It all takes money too. And from a series that was out in the 60s a lot of time doing it. All the legal issues involved with Fox and WB. People need to stop being cheap! Because this set is well worth the retail price!
*Calms down*
Seriously these reviews are getting out of hand. It's insane that people expect to get this set for less. Even believe they are entitled to get it cheap. A real fan wouldn't act like this. Anyways your thoughts on this? I noticed someone from the forum has also been replying to the 1 star reviews and noticed me. I just joined the forum last week but I hadn't had a chance to say hello to everyone lol.

I think we can post the price under board guidelines since it is retail, I am not selling one, and it is out of print anyway (so it's just of 'historical interest'). If not, my apologies. The 2004 set was $19.99.marvelbloodhound wrote:My apologies. I meant the ORIGINAL price for the two-disc Batman: Holy Batmania set. Just curious...
Return to the Batcave used to be really inexpensive and has shot way up, too.

Thank you so much for posting this! I have always wanted to see the 'long' version of the ABC Season Special.wayoutjunk wrote:And for what it's worth, if you want one spot to see all those things you were expecting as extras (and maybe even a few things you haven't seen), I put together a list of those videos over on Popdose. I'm especially fond of Adam West's encounter with Jerry "The King" Lawler!
