Scale of the atomic pile was my first thought when I read this thread title before even opening it. It would be seriously impressive in one sixth, I don’t think he has any choice (in a commercial sense) but to force the perspective like he was suggesting.

The only other option I can think would be to bisect it and just create a flat backed, front-facing facade of the elevation that we see on screen in the Batcave. This could be secured safely to the back of a shelf or a display cabinet with the Jazz car positioned in front of it accordingly with an agreed-upon distance factored into the scaling to create the impression of the atomic piles size from a frontal view.

Am I right in thinking DF120 is a cabinet or a display case of some sort?

How tall is the atomic pile? With a 3 foot long Batmobile, I don’t know how you could get away with anything less than 3 feet tall (which would put the original at 18 feet high).

If it were me, I would design the atomic pile such that the owner could assemble it in sections, allowing them to disassemble and store away/move when needed or display however much of the atomic pile they wish (such as the front half, as Ben suggests) or, if they have room, put the whole thing together.

I had the same question, and found this. It's a light-up display box, 1,600cm x 600cm x 650cm (or roughly 4' x 2' x 2') that must be popular for displaying the 1/6 scale Batmobile. I find it interesting that the case is such a de facto standard that JazzInc feels compelled to design to it.

That’s not too bad. There is another level above that. Are they doing that as well?

a 1/6 scale Batmobile--and now a 1/6 scale Batcave-- now you're getting into Howard Chan (owner of Hot Toys) territory.
You guyz is crazy! ;)

I personally would rather that they NOT wed themselves to that case in the design of this Batcave. Give us the options of how we choose to display our vehicle, and integrate the Atomic Pile. They could also do the Batpole entry area of the cave along with the stairs they hop down? Just another angle to consider.

I totally agree, this would be the best option.

My question is how much space will be needed to display the entire thing?

Personally I would be happy with some batcomputers and a giant lighted lucite map of gotham city for the shelf displays. I live in an apartment and it's already stuffed full of stuff, including the jazzinc batmo, I just don't see a 1:6 atomic pile in my future.

OK, I’m thinking somewhere along these lines. Use the rock faced walls of the Batcave in 3 or 4 panels as a way to set the “Stage”. These could be cast in resin then painted to look like the rock faced walls we see on the TV set. On the rear wall, have a portion of the Atomic Pile, on the left side wall have the Batpole exit point, and the right the exit to the Batcave. I know this might seem condensed…but perhaps it could be scaled down a bit as if using a sense of Forced Perspective. Then the flooring or surface…something that resembles the Turntable..then of course multiple Crime Fighting computer type modules that can be purchased (perhaps separately) to use in as many different positions as you can afford, in terms of budget or room.

Whatever they do, I’d love if they could add the sound effects of the Batcave, the sounds of the computers processing their crime fighting data!

Thankfully in an age of dirt cheap Bluetooth speaker devices, this would be a super cheap and easy aftermarket upgrade.

JazzInc now has the rights for the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman 1/6 action figure.

For an idea of the quality here's a picture of their upcoming Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman.
