Customising with MezcoToyz figures

Post by Therin of Andor »

Because it's difficult to display spare heads, MezcoToyz' Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson needed some ReAction bodies.

The necks were probably too long. A "Tomorrowland" Casey Newton figure provided a body for Dick - and a head for another custom.

Bruce needed very little other changes other than shortening the neck and changing the colour of his undershirt. Dick's shoulders were trimmed a little and a turtleneck sweater collar was added with quickset putty. The spare Funko Catwoman body was destined to become Riddler's moll, Moth. Quickset putty now obscures the belt and any evidence of Catwoman's necklace.

Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson and Riddler's moll, Moth: now complete.

In 2017, I turned spare Funko Julie Newmar Catwoman figures into Lee Meriwether (the 1966 movie) and Eartha Kitt (Season Three), but I was never happy with Eartha's height and the masculine "Breaking Bad" Gustavo Fring head I had used.

So when I suddenly had a new MezcoToyz Julie Newmar Catwoman figure but already had one from Funko - I conceived of a better idea for customising a more petite Eartha Kitt Catwoman! Note that Julie has her feline eyebrows (added by me). The black and ginger cats are little figural fridge magnets.

Your creativity with customizing action figures is always a blast to see, Ian!

Have you got any custom McFarlane plans? I'm looking for donor figure idea for a Bruce Wayne custom using the Unmasked variant.
