In The Works
Sometime ago I was actively pursuing a shot at the BATMAN '66 comic, but editorial concessions and my time just never linked up so I've moved on from it (I've happily accepted an assignment on a character I love almost as much as Batman, more soon)-- here is a concept image I did to show how I would have handled the strip-- it was well received by those that saw it so I figured I could share it with my fellow Batfans here now. I'm likely going to expand on the image and turn it into the 50th Anniversary Print I had already planned to do-- and this may be released in a way that I can't talk about yet-- anyway, thought I'd show you the work in progress.

Andy, that looks great! All the colors are spot on & I love the pilot-style pouches plus you got the bat on the buckle down just right! Would be great to see your work in a book - I met Jeff Parker recently and he says there's more to come for Batman '66 so who knows?
Re: In The Works
I think you passed the audition.
Re: In The Works
Thanks for the kind words folks!
I'm going to rework Batman a bit (black ears, details on the eyes, etc) for the print.
Here's the Cesar study I did.

Please re consider trying that shot at the Batman 66 comic. I'd love to see your story, and I don't want to see the new Batman 66 stories to end.

Re: In The Works
Brilliant work as always Andy. You've really captured both Adam and Cesar in some very compelling looks. The Cesar reminds me of when Batman unstuffed the Joker playing the maharajah..."I've been deflated! " lol

Both of those look fantastic. I personally cannot wait to see the finished products.

Re: In The Works
I would have been really interested in seeing you take a crack at it. I think the style you've demonstrated plus your sincere love of the show would have made you a great option alongside the likes of Ruben Procopio and Christopher Jones whose work on the run I feel stands head and shoulder's above some of the artists interpretations.
Re: In The Works
I agree with you Ben on the compliments for Ruben and Christopher. I think I could bring something to it, but like everyone my interpretation of what made the show is personal so it may not have broad appeal despite my appreciation of the show. Someday maybe, it looks like they're continuing the series as a part time thing.

Andy, I love the expression on Batman's face. Just the right emotion.
Your style would be so lively in a daily Bat '66 comic strip....

Very nice art! You got Caesar Romero's expression down.
Any pictures of Catwoman and Robin?
Good luck in the future with your comicbook career.
cheers
